The Phoney Aesthetic of Modern Satanism

The Phoney Aesthetic of Modern Satanism

Picture this…

It’s early 2021. A bunch of chubby adolescents dressed in all black and adorned with downward facing pentagrams are participating in a “Virtual Satanic Music Festival”.

A teal haired chick – the vocal of the act – raises her right hand high toward the ceiling and starts to wag her rainbow coloured inclusivity bracelet to the rhytm of the loud banging drums.

Then she starts making some singing noises with a surprisingly delightful voice, talking about something somehow related to the “dark lord” or such…

It’s not easy to hear, as her voice is muffled by her medical mask!

Yes, the whole band… They are all wearing masks…

Because, you know, the infectious times we live in!

🤣

Make no mistake: There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking medical precautions. I would argue, in fact, that it is the responsible and reasonable thing to do. Stop the spread. Obey the guidelines…

There is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting various sexual identities and making political statements about inclusivity in your musical act, or at any other time and place either. I would also argue that it is the responsible and reasonable thing to do.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with dressing up in all black, rocking some teal hair or even filling your brain with third wave feminist propaganda, or any other propaganda for that matter. That’s all good. You have a right to be as reasonable or unreasonable as you want.

It is, and it remains a do what thou will world.

Furthermore: None of this is a criticism of the people of the band… Neither is it a criticism of their specific choices…

As far as I care, they could have as easily been bible thumping, tongues talking, snakes grabbing, anti-vaxer bornagains… The groups they can be categorised under, and the ideologies they support are irrelevant, and the values of those groups and ideologies don’t matter. My point would remain the same:

Ultimately, this band may be good, and look cool and all – but it has nothing to do with Satan or Satanism.

In fact, they are as anti-satanic as the bible thumpers would have been!

Yes they may call themselves, identify as, and think of themselves as satanists. They may dress up in ways that reflect what they think a satanist might wear. They may sing songs, talk ideas and even practice rituals that have “satanic” aesthetics.

But this type of “satanism” is all, literally, child’s play. None of these things are in reality Satanic. Not in Nature. Not in Truth. And not in Spirit.

First of all, the current of Satan is antagonistic in nature.

Satanism has no room for inclusivity, in fact, it is exclusive by definition. So, no rainbow bracelets. No celebration of an identity group – any identity group. And no symbolic activism for the acceptance of any identity group in broader society.

Satanism also has no overt signs or symbols. It is secret in expression, and also, exceedingly careful and calculating in it’s appearance. No pentagrams, sorry! Pentagram, in fact, gives the exact opposite impression that one might want…

Moreover, Satanism has no regard for the well being or health of others. You cannot put masks on it or make it care about keeping people healthy. Won’t work.

And definitely not obeying any health rules or guidelines. After all, Satan is not known for obedience!

Satanism is not feminist, neither is it patriarchal. It is not post-modern, neither is it traditional. It is it’s own thing and it’s only reaction to human social concerns is a loud, booming, irreverent laughter that might incite those unfortunate enough to hear it a few steps closer to insanity.

Satanism is simply against – not just against that which is mainstream, or against that which “rebellious” children think of as mainstream, but against humanness. It sees, just like Nietzsche did, humanity as something to be overcome. It loathes the human condition. It may even loathe being itself – but the jury is out on that one…

Furthermore, it is not possible for Satanists to form groups, except in so far as the groups of herds the Satanist might form for exploitation. Yes, there may be a Satanist in a music band, but you’re not going to get a bunch of Satanists forming a band and making a public fuss about it – what an outlandish idea!

Knowing all this – none of which being any kind of secret I’m revealing here, this is all obvious stuff – it is genuinely comical to observe people LARPing “satanism” – the anti-christian therapy group of the ilk of LaVey included…

Ponder what I wrote…

And then ponder what the real thing might be like…

Ponder what kind of a person would actually be a true Satanist.

And then, you can also enjoy a good laugh about a “Virtual Satanic Music Festival”! 🤣🤣🤣
